Our Honeymoon

Our plans for the honeymoon started with wanting to visit Salzburg in Austria, the setting of The Sound of Music, and one end of the (apparently) most beautiful train journeys on earth, and has evolved into a whistlestop tour of European cities...

The Monday after the wedding, we'll be taking the Eurostar and spend our first night in Paris. What more romantic way to start married life than being shrugged at in the City of Love? We'll test Samuel's fear of heights atop the Eiffel Tower, do our best enigmatic smiles (and impressions of Erling Haaland) at The Louvre, and spend the next step of our journey singing 'frommm Paris to Berlin'...

unlike famed idiot Gretl von Trapp, we'll not be traipsing across the alps, but boarding a carriage for the most beautiful train ride on earth to Zurich, where we will stay for one night. Usual tourist activities planned - Old Town. Lindt tour. Stalk The Family Federer...then we will wash our clothes before flying on to the next stage of our trip...

unlike famed idiot Gretl von Trapp, we'll not be traipsing across the alps, but boarding a carriage for the most beautiful train ride on earth to Zurich, where we will stay for one night. Usual tourist activities planned - Old Town. Lindt tour. Stalk The Family Federer...then we will wash our clothes before flying on to the next stage of our trip...

a week in Lisbon, at which point we'll be joined by Bailey & Ethan (kindly accompanied by Julie, they're not traversing the continent alone). Rest & relaxation, sun by the pool, wine tasting, Torre de Belem, a lot of walking as we search for vegan Pasteis de Nata, and try to photograph as many yellow trams as possible to show our family back home...
a number of whom will be joining us for the final leg, our annual pilgrimage to hut 1141 via Fisherman's Walk, as we end our joyous celebration in Bournemouth, with a week on the beach with some of our favourite people.
